ANNUAL WAGE:

PHN I  — $57,366.40 (w/ 2 yrs exp req) + DOE
PHN II — $58,489.60 (w/ 1 yrs exp req) + DOE

BRIEF SUMMARY
 OF JOB:

To provide patient and family focused community health care in accordance with NSHC’s mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures while applying standards for public health nursing in the clinical setting. This position requires some supervision and training.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Graduate of an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing through a program accredited by the National League for Nursing. Graduation from a diploma school of nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing plus two years of professional nursing experience in a health center or similar community health service agency may be substituted for the required Bachelor’s degree.
Registration/Certification: Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska or ability to be licensed in the state of Alaska.
Experience: PHN I: Two years of experience as a RN is required, preferably in the “community” setting.
PHN II: One year of experience as a PHN I for the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere. Travel: Frequent travel to the villages of the Bering Straits Region. Must be able to fly in small aircraft in inclement weather.
WORK SCHEDULE: Work Hours: Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. However, because this is an exempt position evening and weekend work is expected.
