BRIEF SUMMARY |
To provide patient and family focused care in accordance with NSHC’s mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures under the direction of the TB Care Coordinator. Acts as a representative of the PHN Department in the community to provide education, motivation, and directly observed therapy (DOT) for patients with tuberculosis. Plus, provides clerical support by independently performing a variety of clerical tasks. Responsible for scheduling appointments, data entry, drafting correspondence, compiling and processing various reports, and maintaining files pertaining to the Tuberculosis Control Program. Records and transcribes some staff and committee minutes as assigned. |
| QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: |
Education: High school
graduate or equivalent. Experience: Demonstrated work experience in a health care setting, health education, social work, or public health is preferred, but not required. Two years of demonstrated clerical experience in a busy office setting is required. Skills: This position required good organization skills with attention to detail. Must be a self-starter with good oral and written communication skills. Possess ability to follow detailed written and oral instruction. Demonstrate professionalism, consideration and confidentiality towards other in stressful situations. Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. Computer experience required. Files and records management background desirable. Ability to read, write, speak and/or understand the local dialect is preferred. Must have drivers license. Working Conditions: Work may be performed at the Nome Health Center, Village Clinics or patient homes. Must have drivers license. Must be able to travel to villages in the region. Must be available for contact by telephone. |
| WORK SCHEDULE: | Must be willing to work varied hours with flexible schedule. Must be able to work when needed during Village-wide and school TB screenings. |
