The audiology department has three audiologists on staff, two based in Nome and one at the Unalakleet subregional clinic.  The department’s office coordinator manages scheduling, billing, patient relations and a multitude of other responsibilities.  The audiology department strives to provide the highest quality audiological services to the Norton Sound region by establishing complete hearing/balance diagnostic and rehabilitation assessments while increasing specialty provider access to patients.  The audiologists are leaders in telehealth, advanced technology and multi-disciplinary coordination in the betterment of patient care and communication between providers.  The audiology telehealth program has reduced patient wait time for ENT clinics by over 4 months while eliminating the need for 89% of patient travel from their village to Nome or Anchorage.
