Our current Strategic Health Plan focuses on patient satisfaction, village clinic services, staff development, new clinic construction, and overall organizational development. Our 2003 annual budget is over $46 million, which allows NSHC to provide a wide variety of health services with our almost 500 employees, 72% of whom are Native.

NSHC is quickening the pace of positive change by refocusing our system to put our patients, clients, and communities first in everything we do. We have embarked on major building and renovation programs, yet our improvements do not focus only on adding facilities and expanding programs. We are placing clear, primary emphasis on external and internal customer service throughout the region.

The NSHC mission is to "Provide quality health services and promote healthy choices within our communities." Clearly, we are a corporation dedicated to providing excellent patient and client services as we move toward our vision of becoming Alaska's preferred rural health system!
