COVID-19 Case Identified in Nome Resident
Nome, Alaska – On Wednesday, May 19, Norton Sound Health Corporation identified a positive case of COVID-19 in a Nome resident. The case is believed to be acquired through community spread. The patient is safely isolating, and close contacts are being notified.
The addition of this case brings the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the region to five.
If you are experiencing any cold-like symptoms, they could be COVID-19 related. NSHC urges you to get tested at the Norton Sound Regional Hospital Cough and Cold Clinic, which is open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on weekends.
