Norton Sound Health Corporation operates Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome, which serves Nome and the surrounding villages of the Bering Strait region.
The new Norton Sound Regional Hospital is three times the size of the old building, with all new equipment and the latest technology. Walls of the new building will feature works of art by residents of Bering Strait villages.
A Grand Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting is scheduled for November 14 and the new Norton Sound Regional Hospital will open in January 2013. The new hospital was funded in part by the Denali Commission.
