COVID-19 Case Found in Nome Resident
Nome, Alaska – On June 30, Norton Sound Health Corporation identified one positive COVID-19 case in a resident of Nome. The source of the virus is community spread. The patient is safely isolating, and close contacts have been notified.
There are currently 14 active COVID-19 cases in the region.
On July 3 – 4 from 1 – 5 p.m., NSHC’s new COVID-19 Wellness Bus will provide the community of Nome with the option to get vaccinated over the holiday weekend at Anvil City Square. The Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccinations will be available, no appointment necessary. Everyone in the region who is 12 years and older is eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.
NSHC, including village clinics, will be closed on Monday, July 5, in observation of Independence Day.
The ER will remain open for any emergencies and acute needs during this time.
